Serviced at Cummins Ocala in 100 Degree Temps

While our coach was getting serviced, we spent the morning in the car. It’s not easy trying to waste time. We already had coffee and breakfast before they picked the coach up at 8 am, so going out to eat was out of the question. What could we do for four hours? Since we had never been to Silver Springs, we drove the ten miles. We had always heard that it was an interesting place, maybe so, but it’s built as “Natures Theme Park” but it was more like an amusement park and leaving the girls in the car while we watched little fishies from a glass bottom boat was out of the question.

Since the car needed washing, we thought, what a wonderful way too cool off. It’s about 100 degrees and, would you believe, with more humidity than Naples. Then, Sheryl came up with the idea of driving the twenty miles to Grand Lake RV Resort, our destination for tonight, check in early and walk the dogs in the large grass area. That way, when the coach was done, we could drive directly to our spot and hookup.

Well, it’s 11 am and they said our service would take about four hours, so we decided to drive back to Cummins via US-441/301. It’s a very nice back road drive with lots of beautiful horse farms.

Back at Cummins at 11:30 am and to our pleasant surprise, our coach was ready. We have always had excellent service from this facility, that’s why we keep coming back. Now time to pay the piper, $731 for an oil change, just one of those things when you have a 500 hp engine.

We got to our spot at Grand Lake and hooked up, slides out, awnings down, and air conditioners on high, now we are ready to settle down and relax. Right in the middle of our lunch the circuit breaker tripped. Our generator kicked in so we still had conditioned air but under our own power. Do we pull in the slide-outs and move, then put out the slide-outs or call to get it repaired. We got it repaired and all is fine with a new circuit breaker, except it’s still over 100 degrees. The Girls don’t even want to discuss a walk, they do business and are back at the stairs in record time. Finally we are settled in, showered, had a nice dinner, and tucked in for an early departure to Adairsville, north of Atlanta by about 60+ miles. We will be commuting to Atlanta to see Sheryl’s cousins for the next few days.

See you down the road.
